My Samsung SM-226BW has developed a few stuck pixels (ahem) and needs to be returned. The only problem is that all I have is the monitor, stand, power lead and DVI cable. The box, warranty card and receipt etc are nowhere to be found.

What are the chances of getting it replaced without the documentation?

Don't know about samsung, but when I returned my Acer I didn't have the original box. Went down to my local supermarket and begged for some boxes, they brought some out and I fashioned a makeshift monitor box out of it with a lot of padding!

Acer didn't complain and I doubt samsung would - as long as you've made your best effort to pack it carefully. Best to phone them first and ask though, they may be able to send you a replacement box to use.

Yeah I've no real worries about the packaging as I can nab some boxes and bubblewrap from work. It's the warranty card and receipt that I'm mainly worried about.

Did you buy it on the highstreet or online?

Say you had it off OcUK, they can e-mail you a copy of the receipt I would imagine. Same goes for most e-tailers.

Samsung's system takes the serial number off the unit and they give you an RMA number. As long as it's within 3 years of the date of manufacture, the waranty is good.

Well I filled out the form Walter linked to, and Samsung have just called me back.

The guy agreed that it is a hardware fault, and they're going to send out a replacement monitor and stand via courier. So no box, cables, documentation or proof of purchase needed.

Great service :)

Excellent, glad its sorted.

Well to update, the courier just swapped out the monitor and everything's a-ok.

They phoned me last Thursday to arrange a date, I picked today and they came up trumps.

Damn! I have a samsung hd I want to return but for me their submit button doesnt work on registering

*Edit - Ignore that it works now in *spit IE
