Samsung S23 FE not getting security updates

I bought one of these for my Dad recently and for some reason, it's stuck on a security patch from last July. Does anyone know why this might be & if there's anything I can do to update it?

No idea how you force it but reference my handset is on 1st Feb 2025 security update. Bought it six months ago (ish). Is it locked to a provider?

Edit: Just noticed you can run a software update from System/About Phone. That might help if you haven't already tried.

Thanks but I tried that already with no luck. I think it's unlocked as I popped in his O2 SIM and it was recognised straight away. Out of interest, does your model show as SM-S711B/DS?

Sorry for delay, didn't spot the reply notification until now. Yep, exactly the same model. Only thing I can think of is a factory reset to force a fresh update run but that is a pain if you have to backup and restore stuff.
 
My Samsung A15 only offered me the January security update when I restarted my phone a week ago. So if the phone hasn't been shut down / restarted since the initial setup you could try that.
