Hey all

Does anyone have any opinions or experience with the samsung S27A850D? What's it like in comparison to a hazro? Reading the specs it seems perfect for me but are there any bad points to it?

thanks in advance

Compared to Hazro the main difference is obviously the resolution, on the Hazro you can easily fit 2 websites (2560/2 = 1280) next to each other while with the Samsung (1920/2 = 960) you can't without missing information (most sites are made to be viewed at a width of 1024 or 1280 pixels).
Hazro has the upper hand in colour accuracy and viewing angles as well although those of the Samsung by all means are quite good for a TN-panel.

For gaming the Samsung obviously has the upper hand. 120Hz smooth 2d gaming or 3d gaming if that's what interests you.

just read your thoughts pcm2, the slower response time over the hazro puts me off i think :( I literally want to find a monitor as good in the display department as the hazro but without all the **** problems and quality control issues

Well the upcoming S27A970 which I have also commented on may be more appealing but I am not sure when it will be available or what the input lag will be like. And this is Samsung so I wouldn't hold my breath! I wouldn't necessarily say that the extent of the trailing or ghosting is enough of a difference to worry about between the SA850 and the Hazro monitors but the input lag is something that I feel is just too high for many game titles. TFT Central have also reviewed this model - I have access to their previews and can say that they pretty much confirm these thoughts on input lag and you're looking at around 1.5 frames which is perhaps a bit uncomfortable. I am also not a huge fan of the native gamma settings because some colours simply look too deep and dark and you have to up the brightness quite significantly to compensate. As a result whites and lighter colours can become a little overbearing at times. This can give some quite impressive apparent contrast and richness to games though - so really it is the input lag that would be the main killer for me when it comes to gaming on this.

thats all i wanted to hear PCM2, as always your thoughts are very much appreciated :) God darn it why cant there be a hazro monitor in a samsung 750d like shell lol
