Here's situation; I've got s2 running ICS with giffgaff sim,£12pm :-) very good deal but phones getting annoying as its not as fast as I'd like.

Was going to buy nexus 4 16gb, which family member has which is pretty awesome phone.

I've seen s4 looks amazing but its inanely expensive sim free.

I don't mind going contract but I'd like 4g as I do use internet quite a lot(gf has it and I'm hogging her I phone)

Question is this: get nexus 4 and live without 4g and Samsung's extras (is it really that much faster/better?)

Or get s4 on contract but I'm limited to ee only if I want 4g:-(
What options do I have.

Three will have 4g very soon and don't charge anything extra for it and it's included on their unlimited plans. It will be pretty much limited to cities but that's also true of EE.

How desperate are you to have an LTE phone? EE are insanely expensive, and the S4 is insanely expensive...if you can hold off for another 5 months or so, you'll probably be able to get the next Nexus device, and by then Three will have started rolling out their LTE network at no extra cost. Frankly, LTE isn't worth it right now.

While you're waiting, it may be worth looking at rooting your device? The S2 by no means should be a slow phone.

Otherwise, your only choices are to go for the S4, HTC One, or whatever else takes your fancy. SIM free you'd be spending a lot up front, on contract, you'd be locked into an expensive provider if you wanted LTE. Could go contract with Three?

EDIT: Beaten to it :D

As grudas said, the other choice is to grab a Nexus 4 and go with Three. Issue with this is you'll be missing out on LTE, but otherwise, the N4 is brilliant.

Better still get the S4 on Three mobile and they will give you 4G for free when it arrives later this year. Or get the HTC one.
