Samsung Series 9 S27B970D - Minor 'issue' if you can call it that!

Hi all,

I've had the Samsung Series 9 S27B970D for a while now, and I use it at it's recommended resolution of 2560 x 1440. I'm using Windows 7.

However, what I don't understand, and what I get a bit irritated by, is when you turn it off, it's like the resolution gets reduced to a quarter of that (to the top left of the screen) so when you turn it back on, sometimes notification windows, browser windows etc open in the top-left of the screen instead of being in the bottom right (in the case of notifications etc)

Is there a way to prevent it doing this?

Thanks.

Here's an example...

It's a minor niggle, but I'm fixated on it now, so it just annoys me good and proper!

This is a whole hearted guess, Hover cursor over the small window and alt+space. Should bring up the systems menu with option to move window about. I think it makes your positioning the default. Again this is a guess.

I thought it could have something to do with DPI scaling, but unlikely.

Maybe someone knows exactly .

If you are using display port, this might be it. I remember having some weird issues with windows 7 losing dual screen set-up with display port. fixed by moving to good-ol DVI

could try disabling automatic monitor detection in the video driver

Eureka!

I've just changed over to DL-DVI and it's working perfectly :)

That'll teach me for thinking "oooh shiney DisplayPort cable, I'll try that for a change..."
I wonder why it does it with that cable/connection type?

Thank you for all your help and suggestions chaps!
