Just about to order myself one of these for and couldn't find any recent threads about it from doing a search.

A few opinons on this would be nice please! All of the reviews I have read are positive about it (apart from random panel selection - not too fussed by that atm).

I *think* i prefer it to the Pebble. :o

Getting quite annoyed about choosing a monitor as there are sooo many different ones about it's hard to choose!

I have had one for a year now and havent had a single problem with it. Paid a fair bit for it back then but glad i did.

Ps the one in the link looks good too

Ok....

So what about the Dell 2208WFP 22"

See this is what really bugs me, i see one monitor then think,, ooo that looks better, oh wait here's another, what about that oo eer

It's literally been months now:(

I give myself one hour to choose, probably by flipping a coin!

Ooo nice. In what way is it better?

Build quality (even said by OCUK staff in its own thread).

I returned a 226 next day as Bezel was bowed (most 223/226's are bowed) but this was real bad and you could not help but stare at black gap at top of screen which was big in the centre.

The Bezel should be stiffer or clamped/bonded like other Manu's.

Google it and you can find its common for Samsung to slip up in the Q&A Dept.

From now on its only Aquas for my customers and any more issues no more Samsungs period.

Grimley...

You said a few posts ago about a "Guaranteed Samsung panel". How do you know this ? ?

I'm in the middle of deciding to go with a T220 or 2253LW. If it's definatley a Sammy panel then my moneys on the 2253LW.

I think it may have been a forum post elsewhere, or it may have been a different model. There's so many Samsung models out there its difficult to keep track. I bought a 223BW last week & I'm happy with it. Just take my advice with a pinch of salt, though the contrast ratio specs I got off samsungs own site.

The high Contrast is as its Dynamic. ;)

Yep it's all BS if you ask me. Also, posted this on another thread:

I got the 226 BW and it had horrible calibration issues - i RMA'ed it and then they sent it back saying that there was nothing wrong

In the end i went out and brought a pantone huey pro which fixed it. Please read up about the panel lottery with these monitors before purchasing.

I will never buy Samsung again, the fact that they can have 3+ panels in existance within the same model number is totally misleading for the buyer. IMO, my £100 LG 19" looks better than my calibrated 226BW.

Sorry to bump and old thread. My SM226BW OSD seems locked and I can't unlock it. So RMA time it seemed, but they can't guarantee what panel you get back with the refurbished model. I have an S panel, and the monitor is great (without proper calibration), though I fear if I RMA I'll get something inferior. I don't have a calibration device, and they're expensive. Are they still lending one out on these forums?

I had to tell Samsung to stick it in the end, they wouldn't budge with offering me anything other than a 226BW of some sort. I won't be buying another Samsung (build quality is VERY questionable in places). Not just assembly, but parts used.
