Samsung SM940MW

Hey everyone, its the first time i've used this forum....usually stuck to the computing ones..... but now i'm after some tv and dvd player advice....

i've been looking at the Samsung SM940MW tv and the Samsung DVD-HD860, just wondered how they rated and what peoples experiences of these were? They do look real good for the price but if people can recommend others for the same budget of about £300 for tv then i'd love to hear more......

does the normal tv aerial plug straight into the back?

just curious as its a tv/pc monitor

see what you mean.......set top box do you mean along the lines of sky/telewest/freeview. doubt i can convince the folks of getting the pay monthly things, but i can get freeview and use the scart connection

right ok......so how much use is HD tv right now then? if i'll be sticking to standard aerial or freeview channels for a few years? is it worth worrying about now or is it something to think about more in the future?

how does this tv rate then if the above is the case? The GOODMANS LD1920, saw it today in Comet for £250 and the picture looked the best there. a lot sharper and clearer than the others
