I recently bought a USB charging block and it kicked in Samsung's Superfast charging on my Note 10+ and it was indeed quite a bit quicker than normal fast charging, now I don't normally enable fast charge unless I need to fast charge and when I do it is never fast enough :D so this was a welcome surprise, of course this discovery in the 3rd year as I am about to ditch it is a bit late for this one :D but I guess this will be same for the Flip4, Fold4 and Ultra 20 we have.

I'd like to get another new charging block that can do this, I don't quite understand what spec I should be looking for to enable this functionality. I assume this is what PPS is? If an advert says PPS is that enough, or is there something else I need to look for in the spec.

Of course I can buy what I just bought but I would like to get one that can also give 60w to a laptop, fast charge an iPad and super fast charge a couple of Samsung's,

In an ideal world I guess it'd be predominantly USB C with one USB A but I can always buy appropriate cables, any recommendations for charging hubs?

Older Samsung phones was some sort of variation of Qualcomm's Quickcharge, but newer phones have moved on to the more universal USB-PD standard. You are correct you should be looking for PPS as it's part of the newer USB-PD 3.0 spec and far more future proof. It won't be just Samsung phones, other Android phones and other devices that can charge via USB-C will support the USB-PD standard. Even iPhones will have to thanks to the EU now forcing everyone to use USB-C with USB-PD as the standard charging port.

I haven't seen any charging hubs with multiple high wattage USB-PD PPS ports, most hubs only come with 1 or 2 port with high wattage charging while the others are lower speeds. If that's enough though I believe Anker does one that does 45W on one port and 20W on the second port (Or 65W if only a single device is plugged in), I would imagine that should be fine for both a laptop and a phone/tablet at the same time.

I do have quite a few USB PD chargers already but its the first time Supercharging had kick in with the new one, so I guess there is a specific PPS level it must need, the 60W Topvork(?) cheapo I bought of Amazon is light on spec detail so don't know what standards it has beyond PPS, I will try a higher power USB PD charger that mentions PPS and cross my fingers.

I guess this us Samsungs fault for going with a non standard, standard :D

PPS is an open standard. And just an extension of PD.

This does PPS all the way upto 5A supposedly. Lower spec ones only do 3A.
