Samsung SyncMaster 2053bw, backlight problem

i think i will today, but can you guys notice it? looks worse on ps3 when screen changes to show all the logos at the start of games.

samsung reps must really be retarded.... The call centre tells me they do not have my model in stock and not sure when they will get it. They said they could take mine away and get it fixed but i rather have a replacement.

So i told samsung this and they replied

Kindly note that we do not hav the information about the retailer's
stock availability so we would advise you to check with the local
retailers if they have this model within their stocks.

Now i left a sarcastic reply lets see what reply i get...

Samsung service seems to be pretty poor or maybe i'm just unlucky.

getting it replaced with same model, same specs but a 22" instead of 20.

now all they do is replace the screen but i can seem to take the base bit off. I can take the round bit off but there is a bit that connects to monitor to base which i cant take off. Its looks like a one off connection as it clipped in. I'm just hoping the replacement already has that part connected.

any ideas guys?

You were really lucky getting them to replace it, and even more so for a different model. My 2053BW input controller failed, either on VGA or DVI.

All they could offer me was a repair, so reluctantly I let them repair it. It was collected when they said they would (next day) and it came back to me the following Tuesday which wasn't a bad turn around really.

At least I know I don't have any dead pixels on my repaired one, which a replacement may have had as it would most certainly have been a refurbished item, or in Samsungs words "A quality assured product"

i got the replacement today pretty good i thought but the frong bezzal where it says SyncMater has got a gap at the top and bottom. Seems like this referb one had panel replaced but its not sitting flush as tis meant to. I contacted samsung again.

But no dead pixels or backlight problems

got a replacement for the replacement :)

this one is perfect and the picture quality seems better on this one then the last.

I got a DVI/HDMI switcher and connected ps3 which can run at 1920x1080P on this monitor and looks really nice and clear.

Would this have any negative affect byt running 1080P resolution?
