Samsung Syncmaster 913N Problem

Hi all,

I have a problem with the above TFT monitor, I find on some games if it doesn't receive a particular resolution and refresh rate (1280 x 1024 @ 60hz) it displays a warning message which can be cleared my pressing the face buttons. About two minutes later it'll go to black screen with a the same message which can only be cleared by turning the monitor on and off. It then repeats the process.

This happens even if the game settings are under the monitors preferred settings e.g. 1024 x 768 @ 60hz.

This is bad enough on recent games which chug on my rig at the preferred resolution, but worse on games that don't offer the preferred settings.

I've checked the manual and Samsung's website with no joy, any help y'all can offer would be hugely appreciated.

Another way round the problem would be to force the game to run at 1280x1024, if the option isn't available on the in-game menu you still might be able to force it in the games configuration files.
