I have a samsung T220. More often than not it wont display an image on the screen. It's black with very faint black vertical lines will go up and down the screen. (the same lines appear with the dvi cable unplugged) sometime you can get it to switch on by pressing the source button. But how long it stays on for its tottally random.

I've tried the monitor on another machine and it does the same thing, I've tried another monitor on my machine and that was fine.

So I rang Samsung and they happily replaced it.

But the replacement is doing the same thing. Could there be a factor I've overlooked, or should I get back on the phone to Samsung, I don't want to look stupid, if its a fault with my system.

The screen they sent looks recondition and not brand new, you can see its been badly cleaned.

Is there any chance that they just sent your screen back to you? seems extremely unlikely that two would have that same problem. Assuming that you've checked the cables are all plugged in properly and having removed any other variables by trying different monitors/computers then it can only really be the monitor.

i sometimes find the power cable is a rubbish fit in my T2xx screens. one one it needs to be really rammed into the socket and on the other its so loose that if i move the monitor it can fall out. maybe worth checking that. otherwise i'd be back on the phone!
