Hi guys,

ever since i purchased my T240 i get a dividing line across the screen horizontally when ever i do certain things. e.g. watch a movie (used several different softwares, its all the same) or certain games. It does not happen throughout the entire movie or game play only specific scenes.

At first i thought it was my graphic card but then i remember i did not have that problem when i had my older screen, so to double check i plugged that in and it was fine.

i've deleted screen drivers and reinstalled to no good use.
i've downloaded latest drivers from samsung website again no use.
i've tried a friends screen too and that worked fine.
i've played around with the buttons on side in different modes and again no use.

i would also add when i installed photoshop it also told me that my screen was not collaborated properly. I played around a bit with the software that came with it but it did not do anything.

i've also played around with different resolutions but when i do this the only thing that changes is the line that divides the screen only goes higher up the screen or lower.

i tried the other different hertz speed thats available (59, it was on 60) and that did nothing too.

Anyone have any ideas? or is it a faulty monitor? is there a software out there which i can use to test the screen?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Most likley its faulty. I'm using 4 t2xx's around the house and all were fine straight out of the box.

Sorry to hear, but it sounds like a faulty monitor (especially when trying different monitor with the same graphics card).

I suggest contacting the retailer ASAP, hopefully you can get a replacement back fast.

going to call samsung up and see if they can solve it, if not then they got to send me a new one lol. its only a few months old think it comes with 3 years warranty!?

If Samsung can't guide me to fix this issue then it will be first time i'm sending something back for replacement! Any1 have any idea how this process works?! do they come pick it up or do i have to post it to them with original packaging etc?

Call the retailer first, if you haven't had it for long, the retailer should be able to arrange a replacement faster than samsung will. I had a broken samsung LCD TV a few years ago and it took several week to get repaired.

Update:

called up retailer got rma set up and everything (30 day usual stuff:confused:) but then i got bored and tried testing it some more
to completely be satisfied that it was the screen before i send it in.

Retested my old screen (15") and i really stuck my eyes near the screen and it turns out i can still see the screen cuts but you really have to pay attention to notice it.

So i got my friend to bring his base unit over and we used the same game and movie to test it on. On his unit but my screen, no problems at all.
so i took his graphic card out, installed it on mine and tested again. and vola no problem at all on my screen.

so i stuck my card in his machine and tested it and same problem occur.

Culprit = Graphic card.
