Death Star or Mount Doom, it depends on the day.
I have a Samsung UA55ES8000RXZN. Only recently, the HDMI banner continues to pop up displaying the resolution and port number. I have tried everything (Yes I have googled) from resetting the TV, changing the port, power off for a minute, reset the picture, swapped the HDMI lead - nothing seems to be working. Yes its an old TV, but it would be a rubbish reason to buy new one due to this. It is a known problem.

Please, does anyone have any other suggestions?

This could be a handshaking issue from the source. Try swapping to a different HDMI socket on the TV to see if the issue follows.

Reset the source device and update the firmware. If you're not using it on the source, switch off CEC too.

Thanks for the reply.

Handshaking issue? I have updated the firmware, and reset the device.

I will try resetting the CEC with no leads in. Does it matter that I have a audio lead in to my surround sound?
