Samsung TV's - Which One?

Hi,

A complete novice when it comes to AV including TV's.

Currently looking for a new TV and having had Samsung in the past I'm happy to stick with them.

I'm trying to compare the following two to determine which is the better buy/more superior/greater longevity tech wise, if there is such a thing: -

40" MU6400 Active Crystal Colour Ultra HD HDR Smart TV

So, given the choice which would be peoples preferred TV?

Also, regarding HD, am I correct in thinking Ultra HD is better than Full HD, or is it not as simple as that?

Would also like to add that I'm not looking for anything smaller than 40 " and larger than 43".

Look forward to peoples opinions, thoughts & and advice.

UHD is 2K
FHD is 1K

For such a small screen you won't notice the difference, unless you use it as a PC monitor and close up.

I would not buy a Samsung TV, had bad experiences with them- the PC monitors seem fine but decoding, hardware and general firmware side seem pretty dodgy.
 
I'd pick the Samsung. If you do netflix you can get 4k / hdr programmes.. Also a bonus if you have a PS4 Pro / xbox-one-x
