Hi was considering this tv, looks to be a decent 4K samsung tv and can be had from richer sounds or john lewis inbetween £550-650 atm.

Does anyone have it or any opinions on it?

I tend to watch at night and prefer deeper blacks, but I hear it uses an ips panel? so colours will degrade when viewed from the side and blacks will be not as detailed also....coming from a VA panel 32inch samsung.

My bad hopefully admin can edit the post to read SAMSUNG UE40JU6400

Yes meant that one, thanks seen the review already and good to hear its using the VA panel thanks, would still like to hear how viewing angles are or if that gamma/colour shift is bad when viewed from the side.

Popped into my local currys store and had a good look at the Samsung UE40JU6400 not sure why that avforums found viewing angles and contrast/black shifts going worse, the screen looked outstanding obviously if you go beyond the 30 degree angle the picture quality gets worse but I am happy to report dead on or 30 degrees off left or right and no real loss in picture quality in the blacks or contrast or detail......

The 4K videos looked very sharp and clear, so did the colours also blacks were great.

Richer sounds doing it for £599 with 6 year warranty, but John lewis will price match also but with 5 year warranty.

Probably 2 metres back and from a slight angle of about 20-30% on the left.

I checked in-store and mapped it and it looked great, musta looked like a right wally ducking my head and checking it from angles ;)

So from 2m back (red dot on chart below) you don't get any of the benefit of 4K.

You really should get the 40H6400 which is £200 cheaper and a better panel in all ways except resolution.

Thanks for the chart looks good information, yeah oddly I am still debating getting a decent 32inch 1080p screen the J6300, I did see that H6400 panels in currys but it looked quite poorer in terms of black detail, contrast and viewing angles not sure id fancy those.
