I remember some 12 years ago, so not to long back that anything Samsung they made wasn't up there with the likes of Sony & Panasonic, these days they seem to be leading with nearly everything be it TV, Mobiles ect.

So what has changed because back in the late 90's early 2000's i wouldn't touch anything made by SAMSUNG back then as in my book were mid range at best.

to me it seems Korea is now leading in the Tech front were once it was Japan, even LG are starting to come out with some decent stuff aswell.

Korea is growing quite well. Also I remember LG used to make the best/biggest Plasmas.

I remember the old Samsung TV's & DVD players were crap tbh, never seemed to offer anything decent on these shores that at the time challenged what came from SONY or Panasonic back then.

Lol wonder if they ever plan to build a console to take on both Microsoft & SONY, would be intresting if they did as i sure with the amount of money Sammy has they get the backing from the likes of EA and such?

Actually Samsung do make some pretty decent camera's the TL500/ EX1 is a really good camera though it is getting on abit now, also the 2nd Gen NX range is pretty good aswell & the lens selection is improving with some intresting glass to be launched soon, I find the NX20 to be a really good camera thing going against it is it price around £800, which is overpriced in my book.

I'd still rate Samsung below the likes of Panasonic and Sony for camera. (I'm not particularly knowledgeable about photography though)

Your right Samsung's Camera Division isn't up there with the best of them, but they do offered some good mirrorless camera's atm.

Maybe things will change in the future if they pump enough money into R&D & advertising, like they do with their current Smartphone's .
