Samyang to release a 24MM tilt shift lens

This might be affordable to mere mortals:

Some of the Samyang lenses such as their 8mm fisheye are decent for the price it seems:

I've always been impressed by Samyang lenses, reminds me I want to look in to getting that fisheye. This TS looks very interesting, wonder what the price will be.

Their 35mm and 85mm lenses produce great images, but at f/1.4 I can't really see them being very useful for anything out of the studio, too hard to accurately focus wide open.

That'll be cool, TS lenses are manual anyway!

Kept your receipt I hope Raymondo ;)

I've used my friend's 85 with a swapped out, old school viewfinder and it's a lot easier than you'd think, with decent technique and a slow pace.

I'm not saying they aren't useful, but for fast work they are hard to get the right focus (at least on my D300s), I'd agree a better focusing screen and full frame camera would help a lot more. I have real trouble at times with my 105mm f/2.5 AIS lens so need enough time to get a decent shot, if I have that time then I am more than happy to use it as I love the images you get from it.

Officially announced now. Definitely keeping an eye on this, aa PC/TS lens is going to be pretty much a requirement to get the most out of the new high res bodies, especially the D800E to try to avoid diffraction limits. I just hope it is pin sharp at f/8.0

Well I guess once we get past the pre-order stage the price should hopefully go down.

Art companies like sigma and Tamron also post high RRP but in general lower prices substantially and quickly so I would hope it hits 700-800 before long. At that price if it is 90% of the quality of the Nikon and at least as sharp I'll bite?

Sharpness of a TS is really paramount for landscape and architecture applications.

Yeah I think everyones just set a flat £1k price until the lens actually becomes available. I can't imagine it staying at that price for long. Saying that the main reason samyang lenses were so cheap was because they were only manual focus, with that being the norm on a TS they may try and keep the price high.

Hopefully some reviews will be out soon and we can see if it's worth it.
