San Andreas and PSX Pad?

Playing GTA:SA and got my PS2 pad plugged in through a USB converter.

Trouble is all button config is screwed and it makes no sense when redefining. I want the same buttons as on PS2 obviously.

Anyone know where I can get a config file from to match it up?

Have you got any other gamepad/joystick device in your computer at the moment? Because I have my logictech gamepad (identical to the ps2 pad) and it wouldn't work because my sidewinder was the default and only the buttons worked from that.

So i just took out my sidewinder and had only the gamepad plugged in and it works wonderfully. If your still having trouble i do recommend the logictech pad as its relatively cheap (about £10-£15).

no the pad works and the buttons do they are all in the wrong config.

I want the same button config as the PS2, just thought their would be a quicker way to get the correct config.

Have you set the game in control settings as "joypad" not "mouse + keyboard"

Look under San Andreas Tools, and get SAAC 1.2. It allows you to properly configure an analogue controller to work like the PS2 version. I use a dualshock via a USB adapter and this utility. Works a treat.

I have the same problem but with using an Xbox 360 controller.None of the triggers work and gta:sa dosent let me redefine controls to the second joystick. I have to use a mixture of keyboard and controller which can be a pain sometimes.

I found a config for San Andreas PC which made my PS2 controller have exactly the same controls as the PS2 one (which i loved having completed it twice on PS2 prior to getting the PC version)...

I'll see if i can dig out my actual control config file for you later if you're desperate.

SAAC lets you configure any controller axis to control anything in SA.... Dead easy to set up too.

Btw, does anyone know when microsoft are bringing out a new driver for the xbox360 controller? I've seen a couple sites say they are working on new drivers which will make rumble work and a couple other things, but no date for when they are out.
