Does anyone play this game anymore?!

I've tried it with my system overclocked and standard and I'm still getting the crashing.

I'm currently downloading a patch for GTA and a newer set of drivers for the X1900 XT card I have.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Where does it crash?

I just finished it on the PC. Got fed up with it on the PS2...

There have been no mod's installed just a fresh install as I have just bought a new gaming PC so everything is fresh :) It crashes randomly, in game. I've only just started it so I'm doing the second 'mission' if you like..

I have installed a no CD file, but before that made no difference to the game.

I have downloaded a patch for it which was 1.01 version I think. Coffee cup thing?

I'm not overclocking, CPU or GPU so it cant be anything like that.

I've downloaded and I'm just about to install ATI's 6.8 driver set as mine are 6.5..

If there's anything else you need, please shout!

try lowering the sound hardware acceleration.. that was quite a common fix for lockups, reboots and ctd's i seem to remember.

Yea like they said, i remember something awhile back about certain sound problem crashes with SA, if i remember correctly thing it was onboard sound, if you google it you should proberly get a hit.

Thats for that :) My on board sound is turned off as I cant get windows to see its working so I'm using a Abit AU10 sound card at the moment.

The thing is this game is doing the exact same as Total Immersion Racing. Might last 10 secs in the game, might last 5 minutes, it just crashes out. Yet Unreal 2004 works fine and I can play that all night...

Is that just the sound? Also when they speak in the sequences, I cant hear them. I will have to reinstall and retry the patch I downloaded I think first. Although I'm going to talk to technical again just to see what they say.

Thanks for the help :)

I've tried taking the memory out and it hasnt crashed. But I have tried both stick separately and they seem both fine :( I've put them back in together now, to see if I get any of the weird behavour that I've been having.

Also, why am I not getting any sound whatsoever from this PC? I've tried the on board sound, no good. I now have a sound card plugged in (ABit AU10) and that's not being detected either. what the heck is going on with this system of mine!?!

Slightly off topic but what are good mods for SA. Not Multiplayer ones, i know them. I mean like there used to be Real GTA for GTA 3 which was wicked, is there any complete mods like that for SA?
