San Diego 3700 to X2 3800 - re-install?

Hi,

As above, I'm upgrading from a San Diego to dual core 3800.
Do I need to reinstall windows or do anything in particular to get this to work properly?

Or will it just work? (plug and pray? )

If your board's BIOS supports dual core then it should just work, if not you might need to flash it first.

Swap it over. You might need the dual core fix for games. I didnt and still havent come across any issues with dual core.

Thanks that's probably saved me some pain - that's a good point which I'd forgotten.

I have a DFI NF4 mobo, so will have a look on their forum - I'm sure I will need a BIOS flash or something.

I remember when I first bought the thing it pretty much didn't work at all until I'd flashed the BIOS.
