SandBox 2 Woes! :/

Hey Guys,

recently started using sandbox 2 and am making a map, however when i try to apply this one beach/sand texture it comes out SOOOO bright?!?!?!? i have a picture and am completely stumped, if i turn the hardness down to 0.01 it doesnt go so bright and it comes out okay,it starts to go wierd yellow colour at like 0.03, heres the pictures,

Have you built the level yet to see if it still happens then?

i've regenerated the surface textures a number of time if thats what you mean? it doesnt help and its still really bright when i go into game mode :/
