Hi all,

I've been playing with our new test SB setup (Asus Maxiumus IV, SB i7-2600k, 4GB Corsair Dominator GT, Noctua NH-D14) and I've been benching some respectable figures - we're not going for out and out 1 pass 6Ghz or anything - just the fastest possible we can get in terms of a 24/7 system.

My question is this: -

I've been getting a consistent 4.8Ghz @ 1.344v, but under load (running Intel Burn Test at max for 50 runs), my CPU temps are 71 deg C CPU, 51 deg C CPU socket and 39 deg C mobo - ambient temp is about 26 C. Is this something you'd expect or have I done something dramatically wrong?

Cheers in advance as per usual.

Gah, these i7's are impressive! I go up to 1.35 just to break the 4ghz barrier on my wolfdale.

I wouldn't say that thing's are dramatically wrong with those temps but they are a tad bit high with a D14. But then again, it is IBT...

Want to run Prime and OCCT to cross compare max temps?

I wouldn't expect peak temps to go past 68c.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt IBT put temps higher than they ever would go under normal things like gaming? If so i wouldnt worry about it :)
