Intel's new Sandy Bridge processors have a new feature that the chip giant is calling Anti-Theft 3.0. The processor can be disabled even if the computer has no Internet connection or isn't even turned on, over a 3G network.

Interesting... Sounds like a potential disaster to me, exposing a CPU kill feature to the Internet? The potential security issues are numerous!

For the love of god...let me explain, once more:

1) The technology is in the *chipset*, not the CPU.
2) It's only in the B and Q series chipsets, so it doesn't apply to you.
3) Only the person who configures the BIOS in the first place (i.e. the owner) can actually remotely disable it.
