Hello there!!

So me being a idiot, when i transfered my system into the bigger case for my 280x toxic, i damaged my mobo and have only 1 working sata port and no rear audio.

Please advice me a good gaming mobo, i will be getting another 280x next summer so would like to run x8/x8 with my 2600k @4.1

I was looking at the z77 asrock extreme4 but from what i understand, sandy wont use pcie3?

no it wont, you need an ivybridge cpu for pcie3,but it only adds 1% improvement over pcie2 anyway

id still pick a z77 board though, personally id choose an asus/gigabyte board

I have an Asus Sabertooth Z77, love the board.

I just checked on the Asus site for this board, the CPU support list your chip as compatable and it does like PCIe3.

yeah but the op still needs an ivybridge cpu to unlock pcie3:p

with a sandybridge cpu only pcie2 is possible but I wouldn't worry as its only 1% improvement, you'll only see any real benefit with multi xfire/sli and large resolutions
