I have seen some RAM I want to buy, some G-Skill Ripjaws X, but its advertised as Sandybridge memory.
I'm about to build a new AMD Penom II system and was wondering if this RAM would still be usable.

Thanks in advance for any help.

DDR3 is DDR3. It will work fine on any compatible motherboard. When it says it's for Sandybridge it probably just means its lower voltage.

DDR3 is DDR3 memory as pointed out above. Might be worth looking at your motherboard manual for a compatibility list. It might be worth grabbing the latest version from the manufacturer; also that way you can do a Ctrl + F for Find, as some motherboards can be slightly fussy.
