I have today put together my SB setup,i im using the stock cooler untill Monday morning when my 3rd party cooler gets delivered as i couldnt get my H50 to install correctly on the 1155 socket.

I cant get over how cool these chips run compared to my old i7 920:

At stock on the 920 theres no way a stock cooler would have these temps im pleasantly surprised

No doubt the majority of people will find this thread boring, but i was not expecting such a drop in temps compared to the 920,and yes i know its a smaller die:)

Looking forward to OC on Monday:)

Deffo mate cant wait to get my sandybridge up and running,i`ll be on the stock cooler for a few week`s till i get a better cooler sorted.
What you getting?

Couldnt get the H50 CPU bracket to line up with the backplate as the backplate wont fit on straight as you have to install it at a slight angle as there are no proper 1155 holes for the bracket.

Yep, I had the same issue but went ahead and put mine on slightly off square. Absolutely no probs at all and great temps - running 35 degrees on idle (on 4.6ghz overclock) and around 60 under load. Certainly in my case, the slight offset is not an issue at all.
