sandybridge upgrade..

my lads PS4 died yesterday so I stripped a lenovo workstation motherboard out and fitted it into a full size tower so I could add a gfx card for him to play games on the now until his ps4 comes back ( still under warranty he only got it at xmas )

so at present the spec is..

i3 2120 3.3ghz
6gb ddr3
msi gts 450 2gb ddr3 ( have a 570 coming from a mate which will hopefully be a wee upgrade )
cx750m

so my thoughts are.. can I stick in a 2500k to give it some more performance? then through time ill pick up a better 1155 board so it can be overclocked.

yea ive got the gtx570 coming but plan will be to upgrade from that at somepoint. im hoping to upgrade my 970 soon so thoughts would be hell get the 970 once I upgrade.

not sure on mobo but it came from lenovo edge 72 IIRC

Ive just bought a MSI z77a GD65 board of the MM so once this arrives this should open up new avenues for a CPU upgrade.

Ive also been offered an FX8350 and an Asus Crosshair V formula z board

so I went for the FX8350 and the Asus Crosshair V formula z board plus got a gtx 570 thrown in from a mate at £125 so thought that was a decent deal.

Ill sell the MSI z77a GD65 board on as I cant see me using it now.

I got it wrong earlier.. its the 1.5gb gtx 580.

I mainly thought at the price and on my door step I couldn't go wrong with that board, cpu and gfx card. ill upgrade the Gfx card through time and might play on the idea of building up something with the z77 board. Ill look for a compatible i7 for the board and have a bit of fun.
