sandybridge vs ivybridge

Only if Gibbo gives me two custom cooled 670s + a nice monitor in exchange for my soul! Also I had two BSOD's earlier that required me to up volts from 1.12V to 1.13V no temp difference however.

ahah we can but hope. Got to go to the supermarket for q tips. the TIM should be here tommorow can but hope amazon gets the alcohol to me by thursday so I at least have a bit of thursday night to play about before I go home friday. then I wouldn't be back till tuesday sadly. :(

I usually use some kitchen roll and IPA to remove TIM. I know that the fibres in kitchen roll aren't exactly the best thing to leave on the HS/CPU, but I "wash" the surfaces in IPA after I`ve removed the TIM with the cloth.

If you don't get the alcohol in time, nip down to your local chemist, they should be able to supply you with some alcohol wipes. They should do a good job of cleaning off TIM.

Ahah it's alright. I couldn't find a chemist where I live anyway :p Ill grab some q tips and a lintless cloth to go over the CPU/HS after Im done should work fine. Loving my IB though can't wait till the builds finished completely :)

When I went to the chemist to get Isopropyl Alcohol the last time I reseated my CPU they didn't sell any as it was supposedly too "oldschool" and people used other things instead for cuts or w/e these days. Had to go to PC world in the end (maplins wanted £10 or something ridiculous).
