Sanity check needed.

Asus have confirmed they're compactable on their CPU support list however you may need to update the bios.

The sanity check is that I have assumed the bios will boot with the CPU but may give a following error: unsupported CPU.... which then allows me to update the motherboard to the necessary version.

Is this correct?

how surprising...

just checked the bios versions and surprisingly the G2120 works/requires the sandybridge compactable bios version so no update will be needed.

oic, i was on the assumption the sandybridge bios update would have been stock but turns it out, it was only released a month ago.

B75 motherboards are ivy-bridge compactable right?

Haven't really read much about the hawell but it has some intreging requirements i.e. specific power supply.. anything else?
