Waiting until the new Macbook Pros and Aego3 speakers get released, then will buy this lot. Just canvassing opinions and whether I'm missing anything obvious that I'll need:
- Apple Retina Macbook Pro 13” 2016
- Henge Dock (not required immediately - presumably it takes them a while to release a new model once the new MBP is released?)
-- Extra magsafe power lead for dock to use
-- Thunderbolt 2 cable to connect display to dock/MBP
-- Audio out to female connector (included with dock), to allow headphones to be connected
- LG 34UC97
- Magic Keyboard
- Magic Trackpad 2
- Magic Mouse 2

- Apple Airport Express
- Acoustic Energy Aego3 Speakers (connected to airport express via optical cable)
So if I've worked everything out correctly I can dock the MBP, and then use it as a desktop machine - and airplay all the system audio to the aego 3 through the airport express.
If I then want to use headphones, I can plug in headphones to the female end of the dock cable, then send the MBP audio to the headphone jack instead.
And then at any time (even if the MBP is not docked) I should be able to airplay music from my iPhone to the aego 3 (via the airport express).
Does all that sound about right? First time I'll be using a dock so just want to make sure I'm not making assumptions about how it all works together.
