I have recently been given the oppourtunity to purchase a Turtle Beach Sata Cruz sound card. Has anybody still got this card? The guys system I will be putting it into doesnt play games - he just needs it for good music playback. Is this card anygood?

I have one.

It's not bad for music -should be better than the on-board sound, but it is an old card.

I changed mine for an M-Audio 192 which was a significant improvement (but a lot more money).

I got 2 of them... No intention of parting with them.

Very nice warm sound, and a hell of a lot better than a whoel lost of newer cards too!

For music, its a nice cosy sound, not too harsh like Creatives, and yes, its starting to show its age, but as I said, its still got years left in it yet.

As rambaud says, the M-Audio is better, but then it would be.

If you have been offered the TBSC for say £25 or less, then its a good deal, providing its got its original box & Disks etc... Card on its own, then perhaps £20 or under... Any more than that, and its not a good deal.
