Guys,

What’s the low down on Santa Rosa CPU’s? Are they only available for laptops and would I notice any different between a standard C2D and a Santa :(

What are the benefits etc :)

I’ve noticed that all the SR models begin T7*** - is that correct?

I’m currently in the market for a laptop btw, and I would like to know if they are worth the extra pennies :p

T7200, 7400 and 7600 are not Santa Rosa, think all the ones with odd numbers are the CPU's on the SR platform... (Think that's how it works anyway)

Your getting confused santa rosa is the new intel centrino motherboard chipset for laptops. These will take a lot of intel processors including mobile Core2Duo chips the T7100-T7600 as well as lower models.

Depends what you want a laptop for and how much you want to spend but if you want the best performance its got to have santa rosa. Check out the Acer Aspire 5920g which is a lot of laptop for £799.

I know it's the chipset but it's only the odd numbered models that are the newer model CPUs with faster FSB right?
Is there much of a difference with these CPU's on the newer platform compared to the previous chipset?
