just got the 5850 today from a local shop, did a fresh install of win7 ultimate and ran standard test on 3dmark vantage score came back as 11320 with the spec in my sig, would getting a Q9550 help me get abit more seems abit low was hoping to see 14k+ after shelling out!

Edit - i'm a first time ati user any tricks of the trade in the ccc panel ?

Seems a bit low, main thing to look at is the GPU score, you should be hitting around 13-14k. For the CCC, when benchmarking set everything in the 3D setion to " use application settings and performance " when benchmarking.

ahh yeah the gpu score was around 13.5k think the total score was 11320! with about 8.5k cpu score.. wish i had of saved it now

I would'nt bother getting a 9550 when you have that cpu

Am getting 11562 cpu score on a Q6600 @ 3.2 gig if you want to compare.

it does, but i'm not after a quad just for the extra score in 3d mark vantage... i've got 1 for £145 so after selling my cpu it wont stand me much for another 2 cores and abit more future proof.
