Sapphaire X1950XTX

Not realy..

Custom water cooling would be much better,

I'm sure the X1900 XTX Toxics ran quite hot aswell :(

Hi there

Both Master and Slave editions should be in stock next week as we have all of Europes allocation supposedly which is something daft like just 8 units of each one.....

We also have the new X1950 Pro's due in next week which run much cooler, consume less power and feature the new Crossfire internal bridge. :)

Thanks Gibbo.

What sort of price would the X1950 Pro's come in at, or do you know yet?

HI there

Well we got a lot of nice new products going on the website over the next few days. X1950 Pros will be around £150 +VAT. Key point to these is X1900 XT performance, but much cooler, quieter and far less power consumption due to 80nm technology. Plus they feature the new internal crossfire which is far easier to setup and gives greater bandwidth.

Thats sounds ace, so the x1950 pro's are master card less, i may consider getting 2x of these in Xfire then if they are x1900 XT performance, and if tey are going to be that cheap, will see me through next year before getting a DX10 card. :)

HI there

From benchmarking X1950 Pro at stock speeds against an X1900 XT 256MB the X1950 Pro is quicker in benchmarks. However in games it is either 2-3fps slower or 2-3fps faster. So gaming is very similar to X1900 XT 256MB.

However it is cheap and much cooler/quieter along with new Crossfire technology.

Thanks for that Gibbo, will be keeping my eye on these then. :)

Hi m8

We got the HIS Turbo version on the website now. Should see models from Connect3D and Sapphire in a week or two as well. Those will be cheaper at around £139+VAT as the HIS has uprated cooler and is overclocked too.

We shall also be getting a very special version from GeCube too which features a TEC cooler very much like the Amanda cooler. Early reports show X1950 XTX performance when overclocked and this will be around £179 +VAT we predict.

X1950 Pro looks to be a sure winner, its gots 7950 GT performance so will be popular amongst those who preferre ATI. :)

Hmm i quite like the idea of trying to make one work alongside my X1950 XTX..

Are the Pro's compatable ?

Hi there

I do not know. As X1950 XTX uses the older Crossfire technology that uses an external cable.

The X1950 Pro's connect via an internal bridge chip.

So I am guessing it would be compatible.

Just buy an X1950 XTX Master or Slave which ever one you need. OcUK has plenty of Master and Slave X1950 XTX in stock. :)

Sounds like a cracking card, Crossire2 as well, definately going to keep my eyes on these, can't wait to see some reviews of em, see how they stack up, and see what they like using the new Crossfire2, sounds like another winner for ATi. :)

Hmm,

I might sell the X1950 XTX and get a new mobo and two pro cards :)

Hi there

How big is your monitor? If your on 24" or smaller why would you want to change as an X1950 XTX should eat anything you throw at it. :)

Do you have any proof of this?

Hi there

Look here:-
http://it.enorth.com.cn/system/2006/10/10/001429101.shtml

Faster in 3D Mark 2006 and Serious Sam II by a marginal amount over the X1900 XT 256MB.

Slower in Farcry, HL2 and Quake4 by a marginal amount.

Its gonna depend on the application if its slower or faster than an X1900 XT but whatever the call its very similar. :)
