Sapphire 290 cooling

I have 1 290 with another on the way. Last night was the first time I noticed the card was being throttled due to the default fan/temp settings. This would explain my mining speeds and struggling in BF4. To get the specified card speeds i need the fans to run at 65% which is pretty loud. What is the best way to cool these?

I fitted this NZXT KRAKEN G10 GPU Cooling Adapter - Black with a H55 over the weekend, no throttling now and a lot quieter:

Will Strip and fit some heat sinks in June once l get home to reduce the temps on the VRMs.

Im finding it difficult to find these: ARCTIC COOLING Xtreme III.

Are the stock coolers really loud.

Yes, they are poor so you need to up them from their default 47% max fan speed. If i set it to auto it wants to run at 100%.

I have emailed Arctic as there are no other aftermarket coolers that i can find.

Anyone using a Gelid Solutions Icy Vision Rev.2 VGA cooler?

You'll need to buy extra VRAM/VRM heat sinks for either of those coolers.

What aftermarket coolers have other people used?

I currently have a MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard. Would the aftermarket coolers fit due to the PCIE spacing?

I use this - on a case with below average cooling and my load temps are 60-62 and VRM temp load is 75C for the highest one.

I returned the second card as there just wasnt the space between them. I bought and installed an Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV as mentioned here;
