ok got a 512 version of Sapphire 2900pro , installed it and on first boot it shows up as XT  , WTH sapphire didnt even bother to flash them as pros?
besides that the card came without an antistatic bag and it looked used to me , is there any chance i got a second hand one? maybe the other guy flaashed it to xt?:p

anyways although it is shown as XT clocks are lower according to PRO specification , any links to XT sapphire bios?

Can you not just use something to clock it back up? Less hassle than re-flashing it.

Although if it's "second hand" you should be looking to return it for a proper new model.

Why would you bother reflashing it when it is already flashed to XT.. Also the Sapphire cards dont come with anti static bags just foam IIRC. Looks like you got a bargain :D

I got my 2900pro last week (not installed it yet as waiting for other parts for my new system) and mine did not come with an antistatic bag but I did some research and the pink foam that it lies on is antistatic. :)

I really wouldn't worry if it works ok sounds like you got a xt as a pro, i had to go through the worrying part of flashing mine to a xt, if mine had shown up as a xt on boot i would have been happy.

I used the "atiflash -s -atmel 0 oldbios.xxx" command to backup my Sapphire HD2900pro 512mb bios before flashing it to an XT and if you want it, you can upload it for you.

To be honest you're better of leaving it as it is but if you decide to flash it back to a pro then feel free to use the pro bios I extracted but do so at your own risk.
