My Sapphire 3870x2 is killing my monitors power, im not quite sure how. I have ruled out the monitor being damaged because as it type this its running through the hdmi port off my other pc.

Basically as soon as windows is about to load, the monitor just powers off and i have to remove the power cable. Is there something i should be doing to my BIOS or gfx card.

The HD option? i cant seem to locate it.
Ive turned off the DVI alternate feature, it seemed to suggest that it should only be enabled if there is picture corruption.

hmmm never mind on the CCC I can force HD resolutions as my monitor doesnt support them. I cant see you having that problem if you have a HDMI connection

Well i tested the DVI output on the X2 to my other pc, which made it a straight DVI to DVI connection. That seemed to work. Then went back to DVI to HDMI via a convertor and that worked too.

But as soon as i go to my X2 and hp w2207h, and connect it HDMI to DVI (via a connector) the image comes on for a second and the screen then loses power.

Its a bit baffling tbh.

Well if anyone cares...

I can edit my bios via the HDMI connection, and the pc stays on fine. But as soon as windows loads the monitor just dies. And i know the monitor works fine, so what could it be? Windows issues with hdmi? ati issues?
