Sapphire 5850 Xtreme Overclocking

Has anyone managed to get the voltage up on these cards?

The only tool I can find that allows you to change the voltage upwards is TriXX, but as soon as you move the slider and apply it, it just slips back down to default.

I can get to 920Mhz on the default voltage, but I'm seeing other people getting over 1000Mhz on other cards with more voltage.

Try Afterburner and make sure you've ticked unlock voltage monitoring and unlock voltage control. Failing that, go into the 'MSI Afterburner.CFG' file, and edit these lines:

UnofficialOverclockingEULA = 
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 0

And change to:

UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it 
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1

Then save the file and restart Afterburner.

I've tried that - the voltage doesn't even show up in MSI Afterburner!

In which case, it's like the Asus 6850s I had - only Asus' own program could access the voltages, and Trixx sort of could.

I'd send it back and get a different card if you can, I find it a pain in the arse if I can't overclock with voltage. Hence why I sent back my 6850 CF and bought GTX560 SLI. Though the extra VRAM was also helpful.

Still no joy in overclocking the voltage on these.

People are reporting they can do it with 1 chard plugged via Trixx - but I cant make the voltage budge at all :/

For those of you who've raised to voltage to ~1.2, do you find that you need to change the fan curve or does it manage on the automatic CCC curve? Finally getting a decent motherboard tomorrow so there'll be a bit of tweaking in the coming days.

I think that using Radeon Bios Editor might be the way forward here
