Is this card more defective than rest of 5850? Recently when I'm reading forums majority of problems with 5850 is when the card is from Sapphire. I will be buying 5850 (probably this month) and ideally I would like it to be problem-free. What are you thoughts?

Except they sometimes mod the bios a bit and it had been known in the past for these small mods to cause issues.
The cards are all the same though so if it is a bios issue, flashing with another manufacturer's bios would prove/disprove this theory.
