Hi

I have a Sapphire 7970 OC edition (not GHZ, but with Dual-X cooler.)

Stock settings are:
Core: 1000 MHz
Memory: 1450 MHz
Voltage: 1.175
(Performance profile)

I haven't really spent a lot of time overclocking graphics cards, so I decided to go for it and see what the max overclock for 24/7 use I could get.

I managed:
Core: 1100 MHz
Memory 1625 MHz
Voltage: 1.200
Power: +20%

This was stable in Furmark for at least 15 mins (temps reached 82 degrees C.)

The memory clock seemed to keep going, but that scared me so I left it at 1625 MHz, without losing FPS in Furmark over anything lower.

With the core at 1125 MHz I would get funny lines in Furmark, so I backed it off to 1100 MHz. The same thing happened with a voltage less than 1.2 as well.

Are these reasonable clocks, and is that core voltage ok? How long should Furmark be run to assume a stable overclock?

Or maybe I should use something less harsh than Furmark...

Thanks!

Furmark is frowned upon for being far to stressfull on A GPU. I implore you to use something like Heaven 3.0 and do several runs with highest settings. This will give you better results and not kill your GPU like furmark will.

Might I have damaged something running it for ~20 mins?

Also, *uninstalled*.
