I have had this card for around 2 - 3 years and had no problems untill recently. From the moment the computer starts up the screen has blocks of colour all over it, which makes viewing anything almost impossible.

I have updated the drivers but have had no luck.

I have no idea what this is or wheather the card is still under warranty? Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the memory is borked. Time for a replacement im afraid :(

Cant hurt to try sapphires website to see if you have any warranty on it as it may have a 3year warranty

Ok if I need a new card that means a new rig as old motherboard has AGP x8.

Old system is:-

P4 2.8 clocked at 3.5
OZC 1 gig PC 4400
Sapphire 9800XT
120 gig maxtor hardrive
creative audigy platinum

If I upgrade to one of the new Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz, with say the HIS ATI Radeon X1900 XT ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB will there be much of a difference in performance compared to my old system?

Is the extra £70 for the 650mhz His over the 625mhz worth it?
What can the Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 be clocked to on air?
Ill need new ram to overclock the new processor any you can recommend?

Any help appreciated

There would be a massive difference in performance, the HIS is a good choice as it has a better cooler.

Not sure about conroe clocks but i bilieve 3ghz is achievable on air. Id ask in the memory forum about the ram as im not sure.

You can reuse the audigy and the hard drive from your current system.

If you just want to extend the life of your current system a £120 AGP 7600 GT would be a nice upgrade.

If you go with a Core 2 Duo, make sure the motherboard has enough IDE channels, if you have 2x DVD devices plus an IDE hard drive you might have a problem, as some of the newer boards only have 1x IDE channel (for 2 devices).

Geil Ultra DDR2 800mhz is the one. My brother has got some at 950mhz fsb stable with only slight increase in voltage.

Quite incredible memory for the price tbh.
