Hey all, thinking of getting this as a 2nd ATI graphics card just to run a 3rd monitor, I can disable hypermemory and just use the onboard 128mb yes? or is it worth just using my PCI ATI 9100 256mb card? will that be stupidly slow at drawing a 1280x1024 screen or not ? confusion reigns :D

or will a dx8.1 card + a dx9c (x1900XT is my main card) bugger vista when thats out ?

I'd just use the 9100 you have. 2D drawing is decent with any card really, as long as its fairly recent and you have a proper driver for it.

Not to long ago I was using a 4MB Rage3D card for a second monitor running 1280x1024 in24Bit colour (60hz - owch!). Did the job.

The X1300 is an 'OK' card, but I'd go for something like this as a very entry level 3D accelerator just to get a PC playing games rather than using the onboard graphics. There are also versions of this card that do not have Hypermemory and have onboard 256MB - I know because I got my missus one for her PC :)

You should see FEAR in 800x600 with no eye candy and details at Medium - it works, it ain't pretty but she can play the latest games. My try Oblivion on it for laughs :D

Worry about that when it comes out, chap.

If you can use the PCI card without spending the dosh, then why worry ? :D

Its the Spending of dosh on a new monitor to attach to the card im thinking about ! :D

Im guessing I carnt use aero desktop on a non DX 9 card, or not at all having 2 screens aero and 1 not, im gonna guess aero desktop is on or off, looks like ill need a DX9 hardware PCI or PCI-E card for vista ?
