saw this card on the special offer, will it fit in my shuttle? also will i need to upgrade the power supply from 200 watt to the 250watt?

might do this upgrade instead of the expensive over hall....

I ordered the card on sunday because of the offer, I hadn't used my shuttle SN41G2 V2 for a while. It wouldn't power on so i checked the power pack 205w version and it had dead caps, so i installed the card and used an full size power pack. After squeezing in the 1950 i powered it up and away it went. Ordered a new 300W PC-50 and fitted it today, the system works a treat.

Apart from the tight fit - I had to remove the flap above the cards and put a large amount of medical tape over the drive cage to stop it catching the card.

did it blow up because of your putting the card in?

No it was old age/ cheap capacitors. I didn't even want to unpack the card until I had it running else i would have been stuck with a useless card.

don't the SN85G4's have the 240watt pus? i've got a V3 and mine has. also if it is the 240watt one you can't upgrade to the 250 or 300watt ones cos their different dimensions, the 240watt ones are smaller in height

eitherway it should run quite happily on it :)

If its an Achme PSU then id still say it'll be fine. if its the Enhance one then def upgrade it as they seem to be very lacking in terms of power. last one i had wouldnt even power up my PC with a 9800XT installed. however with the Achme one ive powered my entire A64 rig off it with X800pro and numerous hard drives with no problem :)

i'm powering my spec so i guess it's the latter.

i'm now considering getting a cheap second hand sn25p or something and then up grading the components to dx10 .... would a x3800+ x2 cpu limit a 8600?
