Some help please.

I’ve got two 1680 X 1050 Dell Screens. I want to link them together, so I’ve got a larger display area.

My PC is a HP Pavilion Slim line which will requires a slim graphics card.

I’ve found the Sapphire HD 5570 1GB DDR3 Graphics Card, but is has two versions, one with the HDMI and DVI, and the other DisplayPort with the DVI. Because of the card having to be slimed down to fit in the pc, I lose the VGA port.

Which one would be best to buy either the

The HDMI and DVI Version

Or the

DisplayPort with the DVI Version

I just need the best and easy one to display both screens at the 1680 X 1050resolutions

I would appreciate any help,

Gadger

That will depend on what connections your monitors have.

Do I assume from your reference to VGA that they are both VGA?

Do they have any other connections?

My apologises in replying to the thread, I forgot to say what the connections my monitors have

I have two dell Dell 2209WA TFT LCD 22" DVI-D Monitors

So I would hope to be using both the dvi connections on the monitors, but which do I use for the second connection from the graphics card. As you can use either a (depending which graphics card I buy)

Hdmi to dvi

Or a displayport to dvi

Oviously the first conection will be dvi to dvi

Help would be appreciated,

Help would be appreciated,

HDMI-DVI adaptors are cheaper and you do not have to worry about active or passive adaptors it just works.

So go with the DVI and HDMI card.

+1

Adapters are as cheap as chips and work great (since DVI and HDMI carry the same video signal there is no image quality loss using such an adapter).

I would suggest getting this cable (if you don't have a spare HDMI cable) and this adapter - since this adapter is rather bulky and you don't have much space on the graphics card IO port. Alternatively, just use a single cable like this.

Nice monitors btw :)

Thank you, for your replies, surveyor, matrix and cmndr andi

Much appreciated chaps.

I will now the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5570 with the hdmi and dvi ports.
