Hi there,

I need some advice regarding the overclock in HD6990.

You know there is a switch which presumably voids your warranty when you... switch it to OC mode.

What does this switch actually do? I know it overclocks the card from 830MHz/1120mV to 880MHz/1175mV, but I can do that with a software. What else does this switch do?

I haven't tried switching it yet, but at the moment the maximum Voltage I get set is 1250V. The maximum clock I can get now is 1200MHz.

Will this switch allow me to go even further?

The card is cooled with a huge waterblock from EK so the heat is not a problem.

So far my highest OC with this card is 920MHz/1200mV, but some games started playing up after a while of using this OC setting.

Thanks for any advices

the switch also boost the power level but u can do that in CCC anyway...

i can get 950mhz with 1.175v with the normal bios

On mine you can get to the switch without removing the sticker as there's a gap due to the case design. That way you don't have to worry about your warranty.
