Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X Noise

Hi,

I have the Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X card with a fan profile set in MSI Afterburner which temps never exceed 70C when playing games on High/Ultra settings however the fan will spin up to 3500-3900RPM which is quite loud and I can even hear it with headphones on, should I repaste the thermal or any other suggestions without changing the fan profile for it to be a little quieter?

Slow the fans down 70c is nothing on a 290, I would let it run at about 77c-80c, now the weather is warming up we will get higher Temps anyway

Thanks, I will change the fan profile and keep the temps below 80C.

Mine sits overclocked quite happily at 82-83 for hours on end

Isnt 82 83 the throttling temp? If so it would sit at that forever surely?

Nah the first reference 290's were hitting 90c
