Hey,
just wondering if anyone has any idea what thermal pads and thermal paste would be a good upgrade for this graphics card?
currently on idle it sits at 35-40C with GPU Fan speeds at a constant 35% (not auto mode) I found auto mode SUCKED and would rev the fans up and down from 20% to 65% instead of keeping the temperature constant.
on full load in most games the temp rises to 65C with GPU fan speeds around the 55-60% mark, if on auto mode however the temp rises to 70C+ with GPU fans at 40%
Should note that the intake fans are at full RPM when gaming and lowest speed possible when idle and the exhaust fans - push-pull radiator fans running at 50-60% speed gaming 1600RPM, 30-40% idle - 900-1100RPM
Although that sounds OK for this graphics card there has been the rare occasion when the temperature on idle has spiked to 80C when I boot up the crimson software though it does lower again, which of course got me worried that perhaps the paste and/or the thermal pads haven't been applied correctly.
I've been hunting and googling galore and reckon I'll go with arctic mx-4 paste though some advice would still be nice - I haven't ever really replaced thermal pads before or had too so that's the main area of concern.
Help appreciated
