Evening,

Today I have installed my new Super Flower PSU & RX 5700 XT, everything looks great and the pc didn't go up in flames so I must have done something right. One question I do have regarding the GPU is about the fans. They seem to have a mind of their own, they power up as you would expect on start up, while the pc is idle they are not spinning at all, the gpu idle temp varies a lot, its going from 45c to 60c without any gaming etc going on. Even when i'm gaming and the GPU is under load the fans still don't kick in. I went back to the desktop to monitor temps on msi afterburner they were around 65c, the fans then kicked in on full power for 2 seconds then stopped working again. If I change the fans to manual on msi afterburner and apply 100% they also do nothing.

Should I be concerned here or am I worrying about nothing ?

Post a picture of your fan settings in the Radeon software, sounds like Zero RPM mode is enabled so its silent at low temps, but the fan profiles probably need adjusting.

I've not adjusted anything as it stands, everything is stock. I've got Radeon Software, can you advise where I will find the fan settings ?

Thanks

Edit - You were absolutely correct, it was set it zero rpm mode. I've done a custom setup and its working a treat. Thank you

You may also want to disable windows fast boot as this can cause your custom profile not to load, meaning you'll have to reset it per boot. Your mileage may vary though,

I have noticed that every time I reboot my pc I lose all of my settings in Radeon Software, I've disabled fast boot within the control panel on windows. I'm still loosing all of my settings with every restart, I've had a look in the BIOS but can't see any options for fast boot. Any other suggestions to try?

Thanks

Update -

I've figured it out, it was conflicting with MSI afterburner. Once I disabled the start up settings from MSI afterburner it worked straight away after a reboot.
