I have the opportunity to exchange my 7800gt for a Sapphire X1950XT for £60. Just wondering what your thoughts are. Is it worth it?

I know the 8800s are out and all that, but they are still bumping along the £300 mark cheapest, so £60 seems good to me. But there aren't many reviews around for the x1950xt.

How I see it (this is a personal oppion).

If you want a nice reasonable graphics card, the x1950 Pro rocks... I personally think the XT isnt worth the extra money, because then you are only a 100 shy of an 8800GTS.

BUT. You could get it for 60, so I think that is an awesome deal! The XT is about 10 - 15 percent faster I believe, but I haven't really seen many benchmarks to confirm this.

I'd do it - that sounds like a good deal to me. Really fast card for not much money (especially the deal you have). And then when you want to upgrade again, you have a nice card to sell.

Cheers guys.

Just wanted to say that it isn't something that has fallen off the back of a lorry! :) Someone is actually paying me to build them a PC and giving me money for the job + buying the 7800gt.

Have to agree with everyone else, x1950 XT for £60 is an absolute steal, absolutely stonking card that will cut through everything for a long time to come yet. :)

Done, thanks guys.

Now, should I also upgrade everything else with it? New CPU (e6300), mobo, memory... Hmmm, I don't think I'll get the CAPital EXpenditure form signed by the boss (wife) on those quite yet. But I think I will start some "research" ;)
