What Sat Nav App does everyone use?

I'm hiring a car this weekend to head down to Cornwall so looking at getting an App that can help me not get lost.

I don't want to spend too much cash (would probably stretch as far as Co Pilot for £19.99) as I won't be using it all that often.

Options I think I have on the table:

1) Waze
2) Google Maps
3) Apple Maps
4) Co Pilot

Would be keen to know who has used any of the above. Specifically interested in anything that monitors traffic conditions as routes you the best way possible.

Cheers

I used Google Maps until Apple removed it. Not bothered putting it back on yet.

I use Nav Free which does the job for me, some modules you can pay for, such as Traffic, Cameras and novelty voices (Stephen Fry) for example.

I've used waze and it has been spot on with regards to times and traffic... its nice that with the push of 2 or 3 buttons you can alert other users of any matter arising on the road (traffic [light, medium, heavy], accidents, police, speed cameras, obstacles in the road etc...). You can also clear things so if someone said there was police on the hard shoulder and they are gone, you can clear it... Well worth a try considering it is free!

I ended up going for Co-Pilot. Bought an iTunes voucher from a user on another forum to reduce the actual cost of the app.

Was well worth it, had free traffic updates for the year and was always very accurate on arrival times etc.

Problem I had with Waze and Apple Maps is that I quite frequently find myself in areas with no decent data coverage, in which case they just don't work. I now use NavFree, which so far has been OK - traffic overlay is a bit crap though.

Waze is without a doubt the best sat nav I've ever used. Saved me loads of time and it makes driving slightly more fun :p

I heard that Google or Facebook may be going for a buy out... If Google buy them out, prepare for Google Maps to get even better :p

Nav free. With google maps as a alternative

Taxi driver here and have to say nav free is my go to sat nav app these days for any out of town work brilliant app and more up to date than copilot and google maps (have all three installed n my ipad )

Used to use google maps, switched to nav free and now paid for co-pilot.

Co-pilot is well worth the £17 it's extremely good. It actually supports alternative routes and tap and drag to modify routes.

I use Co-Pilot which on the whole I am happy with. Just installed Waze though so going to give that a go as well. As has been pointed out, you download map packs with co-pilot so works offline if necessary.

Been using tomtom for years and find it very good. This last week I've been testing a few of the others to see if anything is better yet.

- google maps. Great at finding places but the actual navigation is so unclear. Found myself missing turns etc rather to often.

- apple maps. Great and clear to use but finding places to navigate to is very hard work.

- waze. Tried this tonight. Warrington to London. The journey time came up 30mins shorter then the other apps. Went with it anyway then hit the m6 juntion2 and it was closed. Detor was 30 mins. Guess all the other apps picked this up hence showing longer journey time. It's ok to use but because of the above its been deleted.

Think ill stick with tomtom for now. The only that bugs me is they make you pay for HD traffic. Which is why I will keep trying the others every so often.

Used Waze today on my way to work. Was a bit slow on the rerouting and kept trying to reroute me a direction I knew was slower.

The speed camera notifications were good and accurate but I guess that depends on who is adding them.

Overall pretty good for a free app.
